Membership
We are very pleased that you have expressed an interest in affiliating with Temple Emanuel. Temple Emanuel is a warm, caring, and open community of approximately 170 households. As a small Reform synagogue, all of our members have the ability to know one another and the opportunity to have serious input into how our congregation operates. Temple Emanuel is a participatory, diverse, non-judgmental, and intellectually vibrant congregation.
Our dues structure works on a "Fair Share" system, and is explained in our Fair Share brochure which we would be pleased to send you. Briefly we request that each member household honestly assess its ability to contribute financially to the Temple Emanuel's well-being, rather than trying to compute some kind of "value" by how many synagogue services it expects to use. We believe that when an individual or family takes ownership for an organization, they are more likely to become involved actively in how that organization functions, rather than simply seeing themselves as recipients of programs and services. An initial $400 payment toward your dues commitment and comprehensive fee is required with a completed membership application. For those registering children for school, an additional $50 registration fee per child, applied toward school tuition, is due with your membership application.

Non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend our regular Friday night Shabbat services. Services being at 8:00 PM most Fridays, except when we have Shabbat Dinners or other special programs.
